"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world.  Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."  -  Margaret Mead

Leadership Los Alamos is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3), tax exempt organization founded to identify current and emerging leaders in the Los Alamos community, enhance their leadership skills, and deepen their knowledge of the challenges and opportunities facing our area.

2010 Class and Orientation Session & Retreat

28 applicants were accepted by the LLA Board at their August 13 meeting for this year's class. They were notified that afternoon of their acceptance and initial details for the year.  We are very pleased with the range of people wanting to learn more about their community (and themselves) so they can join others in working to make a difference.

The Program Committee is hard at work planning the year, especially the Orientation session & retreat which will be held Friday evening, September 17, and all day Saturday, September 18.  The session/retreat will be held at the Valles Calderas National Preserve's Science & Education Center in Jemez Springs this year.  This is a wonderful facility (see the Brochure and Pictures) and Phil Bryson with On The Edge Productions will be back to lead the class through leadership and team building.

Guests are welcome at the reception but the dinner and remainder of the session/retreat is for class participants only and is required for graduation.  We have reserved the rooms at the Center so be sure to let us know as soon as possible if you will be spending the night.

We have a great year planned, thanks to generous contributions from Los Alamos National Bank and Los Alamos County.  Please thank them for us ! ! !
