Leadership Los Alamos is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3), tax exempt organization founded to identify current and emerging leaders in the Los Alamos community, enhance their leadership skills, and deepen their knowledge of the challenges and opportunities facing our area.
2011-12 Economic Development Session Next Friday at LA Research Park
The Economic Development session of this year's Leadership Los Alamos program will be held January 20 at the Los Alamos Research Park. The purpose of this session is to impart an understaanding of economic development on a broad level as well as the current state in Los Alamos. Discussions and presentations will focus on the vision for the future, planning efforts underway, and how to contribute to shaping future economic development for Los Alamos. We hope to impart an understanding that communities must view economic development in a broader context and consider effects of globalization and the role leadership and vision play in moving forward.
Micheline Devaurs and Mike Wismer are chairing this session this year and have an exciting, educational day planned. This includes the NM Economic Development Secretary and speakers on the Regional Broadband Project, Mutual Economic Goals between LA and LANL, and the White Rock Master plan plus panel & group discussions on the Broadband Project, Doing Business in Los Alamos, and Real Estate.
The class will also discuss leadership information sent by Phil Bryson again.

The session will be followed by a RECEPTION hosted by The Hill Diner at the Best Western Hilltop House from 5:00 to 7:00 pm for the current class, graduates, and guests. FREE with a cash bar!
